    The beginning

    DURO-TEST CORPORATION was founded, offering long-life bulbs (5000 hours) in order to compete with the industry standard (1000 hours).

    Early fluorescent

    Even before the presentation of the fluorescent light in the New York World’s Fair in 1939, Duro-Test had built a medium-based fluorescent lamp.

    This was the first of a white fluorescent lamps series, for specific applications, which was the most efficient of its time.

    The original warm white fluorescent bulb, and the first to simulate the aspect and warmth of incandescent light.

    V-Beam traffic light

    With its V-shaped filament, this is the traffic light bulb that lasts the most and which directs the light to the driver’s eyes.

    Protected light bulb

    It was the first light bulb with safety glass, resistant to thermal shocks and impacts.

    This was the first mercury lamp with a safety mechanism that extinguished the arc tube in case of an exterior light bulb smash.

    This was the first modular system that accepted up to eight fluorescent luminaries, developed in Mexico for the specific conditions of the C.F.E. power supply.
